Attractions
The State House acted as our nation´s first capital. For almost a year, the United States government operated out of this building while the White House was being built. Since 1772, the State House has been a house of legislation. The Rotunda of the State House makes the building a must to visit not only for history buffs but for those who appreciate good architecture as well. It is the largest rotunda in the world that was built without the use of nails. You can recognize the State House as the building pictured on the Maryland state quarters.
